have been updated with this new information. Please do not call the

Hello
Darters…. Well, another year has passed and we are moving forward with very significant changes constantly being made. Our website is now a great source of up to date information and we try to email you the important items individually as well. First of all, I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding while we have navigated through these waters to get our organization back on track. For those of you that are relatively new, we underwent a lot of reorganization and spent a great deal of time and effort to update certain areas of this Association that were, not entirely, up to par. We had recently decided to go back to the practice of collecting dues on an annual basis at the beginning of the year. With this in mind, I would like to clarify how we are going to collect these dues. First, all of your dues will be pro-rated from the season in which you last paid them. If you paid your annual dues in the fall "07, your dues would only be $10.00 for the entire year of 2008. If you paid them in the summer '07, then they would be $20.00 for the entire year of 2008. However, if you paid them last spring, you would be expected to pay the normal $30.00 for the entire year of 2008. As of January 1st, all dues are owed to the SCDA for each member and we will start collecting them shortly. We will try to let each Captain know by the Spring season Captains' Meeting which will be held on the 12th of January, so that we may be able to answer some of your questions, if any. All Captains, by the first night of play, will be responsible for collecting and sending them into the SCDA. The Captains will also ask you to fill out another Individual Application at the same time. A completed application and the dues will be required to obtain an ID card. I know that it seems that you had previously filled out an application and nothing has changed, so why bother. On the administrative end, the SCDA spends countless wasted man hours because we do not have accurate updated information from each member. It is only once a year and will help keep out costs down to a minimum. If you have any questions, as always, please feel free to contact me directly. SCDA has decided to allow Captains to call their results in to the
Recording Secretary, Joe Stone at (805) 813-0852 until further notice. A
hard copy of the results must still be followed up and received no
later than noon on the third business day after the match. Results are to be faxed to (805)212-4847. Scanned results sent by E-mail to josephstone@adelphia.net will be accepted as well. Of course, you can always mail your results to the SCDA if you prefer. If, for any reason, you have trouble faxing to Joe Stone, please phone and let him know there is a problem. |
